November Gardening Checklist

  • Plant Cool Season Vegetables (most of the leafy and root crops)
  • Plant winter annuals and flowering perennials-geraniums, alyssum, petunias, pansies, lobelia, snaps, stock…..
  • If you’re winter lawn has been mowed 2x you should fertilize w/ 21-7-14
  • It’s not too late to plant a winter lawn!
  • Fertilize roses for the best blooms of the year!
  • Caterpillar alert! the butterflies are in abundance be sure to watch for damage from caterpillars on young tender vegetables, orange and yellow bells, bougainvillea, grape vines, and passion flower vines
  • As weather cools nuisance pests will try and move in with you to stay warm!
  • REMEMBER FALL IS THE BEST TIME TO PLANT MOST TREES, SHRUBS, AND VINES!!
