Thank to Kelly Young our county extension agent for keeping us posted on the outbreak ofall the caterpillars this fall.” It appears that the caterpillar that has been damaging bougainvilleas is, get this, the “bougainvillea caterpillar” Asciodes gordialis. This is another previously rare/unheard of pest of the area. They are native to the Southeastern U.S., Central America, Guayana and the Caribbean.”
If you have any questions about fall gardening or just want to get started off on the right track we will be conducting our monthly Harper Boys Garden Club Class and meeting this Saturday at 10 am at both locations! Bring samples, pictures, problems, or any old question or concern about your landscape or garden and we’ll get you on the right track or help you get started if this is your first time!!
Remember to bring the kids Saturday 10/27 at 10 am as well for the great pumpkin hunt. The great pumpkin will have hidden pumpkins all over the nursery and if you have a child under 12 he can find one and take it home for FREE! This is going on at both locations as well!
