It’s that time of year, lots of things like this weather- not just us! We’re seeing aphids, mites, and here is a picture of the beginning of mildew on rose bushes. Mildew if it persists can cause leaf damage and affect the overall health of the plant. Fungi are much easier to prevent than to clear up. Spring conditions are favorable for them to develop and spread, so we recommend preventative treatment around particularly rose bushes and grape vines. Soil sulfur is one of the best ways to prevent fungus from developing as the spores can begin in the soil around the plant. If you already have mildew appearing you can use ferti lome triple action (it’s organic and will control aphids and mites as well), or bordeaux dust!
